Funded by the Institute of Educational Services, Dr. John Sabatini led a presentation hosted by CaptiVoice titled, “Adult Learning: Remote Reading Diagnostic and Placement in the Times of COVID-19.”

Although many adults in the United States struggle with reading proficiency, there are few assessments for identifying strengths and weakness, measuring progress, and providing instruction. There are especially few assessments that can be administered remotely, which is increasingly vital amidst the social distancing necessitated by COVID-19. Together with the Education Testing Service, University of Memphis researchers have developed SARA - an assessment battery for adult learners. SARA offers (diagnostic) measures of adults’ learner needs, progress, and outcomes.

In this webinar, you learn:

    • How foundational skills of reading impact adult student learning
    • What the SARA assessment is, what it offers, and who qualifies for it
    • How to help your students read and learn with CaptiVoice
    • How to use SARA and CaptiVoice in remote and hybrid settings
    • About a research study that provides SARA and CaptiVoice for free
